medical microdermabrasion

Microdermabrasion is a non-invasive method of skin resurfacing. lt will increase the blood supply and produce nutrients for skin regeneration, repair and increased cellular activity.  Microdermabrasion improves the skin’s elasticity, texture and balances the natural pigment colouring in the skin, by using microcrystals.  These fine microcrystals are enough to gently disrupt the dead skin cells that case dull and tired looking skin.  When the treatment has removed these cells your body will work to replace them with fresh, healthier looking skin, giving a more radiant, tighter and glowing appearance to the skin.

Other benefits to microdermabrasion include reducing fine lines and wrinkles, scarring and pigmentation which will all produce a brighter rejuvenated tighter skin.

Frequently asked questions

How many treatments will I need?

A series of treatments will be needed, and we recommend between 6-10 for the best results.  The facial times can be spaced between 4-6 weeks apart.

When will I see results?

This facial will give immediate results. You will notice the most difference after around your third treatment.

Is Microdermabrasion good for acne and scarring?

Microdermabrasion can help to slightly reduce superficial acne scarring by removing the top layer of the skin. for deeper acne scarring, you would require a more invasive procedure such as a deep chemical peel, laser skin resurfacing or micro needling.

Is there any downtime?

Microdermabrasion is a safe and gentle procedure. You may experience mild redness and sloughing/peeling. It is recommended to wear a sun block or natural moisturiser for 48 hours afterward to protect the skin.
